The Johnston City Council entered into a Development Agreement Iowa M.S. (Mechanical Sales) an independent manufacturers representative that assists clients in engineering, designing, delivering and maintaining commercial HVAC systems. The company is located at 9550 White Oak Lane in Johnston. This is the same building where Candeo is located.
Under the development agreement, Mechanical Sales will construct an estimated $750,000.00, 5,000 sq. ft. addition to their existing facility. The have committed to maintain 17 jobs including 2-3 new positions. When the expansion is completed, the City would provide 50% of the allowable incremental property taxes in the form of a rebate each year for 5 years, up to a maximum of $51,000.
This agreement was approved at the City Council meeting on July 1, 2019.
