The City of Johnston is taking initial steps to sell approximately 5.5 acres in the 6300 block of Merle Hay Road to Hubbell Realty Company – potentially for the construction of an apartment community. The City has been working to assemble several parcels in the area to facilitate development as a part of the Merle Hay Road north redevelopment plan. The sale price is estimated to be $843,660.00, but it can not be finalized until June 25, 2014.
The sale and planned project are consistent with the vision for the redevelopment of properties in the Merle Hay corridor, and it would not be possible without actions taken by the City to make the area suitable for development.
