Phase 1 construction has started including earthwork, lake construction and the associated installation of storm sewer utilities and a groundwater well. These activities are being financed with City resources. Other amenities such as a civic shelter, picnic shelters, restrooms, play structures and enhancements to Crown Point may not yet have an identified funding source.
Johnston officials are discussing alternatives for raising funds to help develop the amenities that may be constructed in the area now known as Terra Park. Consideration is being given to inviting organizations to financially support the project in exchange for naming rights to certain features including the park, lake and the community center.
